specializing in supporting those who are parenting a medically complex child or have suffered the death of a child.
We offer a gentle space to grieve and feel. While we specialize in supporting family members who have lost a child or are raising a medically complex child, we welcome any one who needs a space to process the pain of loss that every human experiences.

Grief can be all consuming, but it’s also proof of such deep love for those who are no longer with us. We want to honor that grief and support you as you adjust to a new normal. Losing a child is one of the most disorienting experiences a person can have - let us help you learn how to feel centered in the mix of emotions attached to moving through your grief.
Grief can take many forms. While some experience loss through the death of a child, grief can also look like a chronic, complex diagnosis that leads to a life that might look different than you had imagined for your family. Grief of the loss of possibility, along with grief of “normal” milestones” is often coupled with chronic diagnosis. Let us help you navigate this world of raising, loving, and caring for a medically complex child.
Wave Break Therapy exists to help break up the waves of grief after a loss. Our focus is on helping to guide processing and healing after a traumatic loss. We want to hear your story and help you figure out how to continue forward as you learn to grow around your grief.
We are pleased to offer...
Both Kayla and Lauren have worked in intensive care units around the country and have a unique understanding of the medical system. We have supported hundreds of families through the final moments with their children. As you start to process your time in the hospital with your child, we can relate to the hospital experience and support you through your memories there. Together we can work on processing your interactions with the medical
system and how that impacted
your journey to here.
We are an exclusively web based
practice. We do not have an office at this time and offer our
services through Simple Practice. We offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
While we specialize in the grief
and loss associated with the death of a child, we are also trained and experienced in helping those dealing with a variety of life experiences. Some other areas around which we can offer support include: work and life transitions; relationship difficulties; infertility and pregnancy loss; parenting; stress and mood issues; trauma recovery, and more.
